ADDRESS CHANGE
All address changes must be made in writing (fax and e-mail are acceptable). You can use the Change of Address form provided on this web site under GENERAL INFORMATION.
CERTIFICATES
Please allow 90 days from the day you are granted registration or certification to receive your certificate.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The registration laws in Arizona do not require an applicant to have a college degree for registration.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DEFICIENCY
If your application has been deemed deficient by the Evaluation Committee, you may submit additional written information for re-evaluation. You will be notified of the results of any Board action on your application. If your application is formally denied by the Board, you will be advised of your appeal rights at that time.

MISSED EXAM DEADLINES
Applications for examination received after the deadline will be processed for the next scheduled examination in your field.
EXAMINATION EXTENSIONS
If an emergency occurs and you are unable to take the examination, you must request an extension in writing. You are allowed only one extension.
EXAMINATION FEES
Examination fees are separate from application fees. See the Fees schedule under GENERAL INFORMATION on this web site.
EXAMINATION RESULTS
It takes approximately two months for examinations to be returned from the grader. Once they have been received by the Board, results are mailed to you. Examination results will not be given over the phone. If you fail the examination, you will still have time to pay the fees to retake the whole examination or specific sections that you failed.
FAILED EXAMINATIONS
If you failed an examination, you must retake it. You have five years within which to take and pass the examination.
EXAMINATION RETAKES
You have five years within which to retake and pass all sections of the examination. You are not required to fill out a new application each time you retake the examination within the five-year period.
FEE PAYMENTS
The Board requests that all fees be paid by check or money order payable to the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration. You will be mailed a receipt.
REACTIVATION OF REGISTRATION
Fill out a Reactivation of Registration application and pay current renewal fees. If your registration has been inactive, or if you have been retired, for more than five (5) years and you have not been engaged in that profession, you will be required to take the applicable professional examination.
REFERENCES, CERTIFICATES OF EXPERIENCE, TRANSCRIPTS, VERIFICATIONS, AND PROOF OF OUT-OF-STATE REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION OR EXAM RESULTS
Contact your references and/or supervisors four weeks after submitting your application to verify their receipt of your documents, and that the documents have been forwarded to us. You will be notified of your application status no later than six weeks after we receive your application. If you are registered or certified or have taken examinations in other states, verification of such registration/certification or examination results from other states is required.
WORK EXPERIENCE
All experience must meet the requirements mandated in Article 2 Registration and Certification of the Arizona Revised Statutes, Section 32, and in Article 2 Registration Provisions of the Arizona Administrative Code, Title 4, Chapter 30.
